Activity 05 | Tarpaulin Event Design CONSOEUR BENEDICTE J. CABILES | BMMA | 2ND YEAR | 2ND SEMESTER  | TYPOGRAPHY & LAYOUT DESIGN Having to create a tarpaulin design for an event felt like actually having a client for there are certain standards and keen details to be observed in creating the design. With the theme being Bauhaus, I did discover that it is an artistic style that uses geometric shapes in a playful and honestly interesting way. It was a challenge for me as there can be times when the shapes feel too cluttered and there can also be instabces when the whole look of the overall design was just not looking neat at all. For this design, I used toned down pastel colors to give this bit sense of vintage which apparently is a common style for the Bauhaus theme. The layout was an observance to balance wherein one side has most of the designs while the other side contains mostly the text details. The fonts that are used are very geometrical in shape and having to hoghlight ...

ACTIVITY 04 | BROCHURE LAYOUT

Activity 04 | Brochure Layout  CONSOEUR BENEDICTE J. CABILES | BMMA | 2ND YEAR | 2ND SEMESTER  | TYPOGRAPHY & LAYOUT DESIGN   I took it to the creative freedom to get this brochure design done. In this 3 fold Brochure design I alloted the first side to be about the course BMMA (Bachelor of Multimedia Arts) I mainly discusses the branches of Multimedia Arts or pretty much the main curricular offers of the course. Although we were asked to use the school's signature color palette, I do think that having a dynamic color scheme would further catch the attention of potential viewers and it also has an excerpt of my personal art so I do want to incorporate that creative touch to the design. When it comes to the fonts that are used throughout the design, I used this narrow display text which has this wavy look an...

Activity 03 | Two Pages Magazine Design  CONSOEUR BENEDICTE J. CABILES | BMMA | 2ND YEAR | 2ND SEMESTER  | TYPOGRAPHY & LAYOUT DESIGN   I was quite frantic at start, for the reason being that I have ideas that are either too overly exaggerated that would result the page to be a struggle to look at and some other ideas seems too farfetched as it requires further edit manipulation. In the end, I did find an inspiration which is this kind of y2k and tribal futuristic look where the detail elements has this strangeness aspect to it. (Some are the 3d elements and the layout as well.) The main fonts that I have used are  Agradir Thight Black (used mostly on the page 01 head title and some few important details about the excerpt.) I also used Liham which worked well for sub heading as it is a display font and is quite wide. For the paragraph fonts, I used Montserrat Classic that displays the text in a easily followed way. Though it does not have an italic form, the bol...
